Welcome to Meadow Therapy

A place for you to grow into a better you

How it Works

01. Initial Consultation

You will have an initial consultation.  This will be used to explore what brings you to counselling and to see if you feel we will be able to work together.

This session is done online or by phone.

02. Sessions

Therapy session  are 50 minutes long and will be weekly, preferably on the same day and at the same time.  We will be working together for either a short-term fixed period (12 sessions) or longer term (open-ended), during which we will regularly review the counselling process and your progress.

03. Counselling

Short-term counselling is more goal-oriented and focused on a current problem that you would like to have a better understanding of in order to deal with it. This can be a work-related problem, a relationship issue or dealing with a big change in life.

04. Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is appropriate when there is a clear wish for gaining an understanding of yourself and your circumstances that will help you move forward and heal from certain conditions or inhibitions. This is about giving oneself the time to go deeper and wider with reflecting on yourself and your life and, through genuine introspection, to engage with the process of change itself.

My Approach

I am a BACP registered Psychotherapist, and I have an integrative approach to Counselling and Psychotherapy. This means I am trained in a variety of modalities such as Psychoanalysis, Cognitive, Existential, and Person-Centred. This allows me to tailor an approach that is specific to your needs and I approach every client as unique.  I fully believe that there is 'no one size fits all' and what my integrative approach allows me to do is to work in a way that is most beneficial to you.

Personally, I believe, most importantly, my clients need to feel seen, heard and understood, in order for them to understand themselves better and feel more empowered to make positive changes in their life.  What I can offer you is a warm, safe, confidential space to be able to talk openly about what is bothering you.  Together, we can work through any emotions and thoughts you may have in greater depth to really get to the bottom of it and to help facilitate the change you want to see in your day to day life.

I put great emphasis on what happens relationally in our sessions and how this plays out in the relationships you have outside of the therapy room. Here, we can gain a better understanding of how you see the world and the people in your life, as well as facilitating growth and healing from past relationships that have had a negative impact on you.

Due to my own experiences in life, my work has led me to focus closely on childhood trauma, attachment theory, and the anxiety this can lead to in adolescence and adulthood.

As well as working with adults in private practice, I also work within a secondary school and my primary focuses here are anxiety,  understanding ASD, OCD, and LGBTQ+ clients transitioning.

I work in a non-discriminative manner that is culturally and LGBTQ+ affirmative.
